Tree replacement project up for debate during Capital Budget

Nov 9, 2017 | 2:00 PM

The City of Red Deer is looking to add $230,000 to its tree replacement budget in 2018.

City council will decide Nov. 29 and 30 during Capital Budget debate whether the funding gets approved.

The proposed figure is part of a tree replacement project coming forward directly as a result of the June 20 windstorm which pounded our city.

The City estimates between 3,000 and 5,000 trees came down within the natural areas and another 570 along roadways.
