Central Alberta Remembrance Day ceremonies

Red Deer 

Service 1: 10:30 a.m. – Service begins at CrossRoads Church
-Free transit is available every 15 minutes from Sorensen Station starting at 9 a.m. with the last bus leaving at 10:15. This bus will also pick up outside Servus Arena en route to CrossRoads. Buses will depart the church following the ceremony.

Service 2: 10:30 a.m. – Service begins at Veterans’ Park (downtown cenotaph on Ross Street)
-Parking is available at Sorensen Station, on surface lots, or metred on-street parking.
-Event is hosted by Korean War Veterans’ Association

Action Buses may be booked to go either service.

Blackfalds

10:45 a.m. – Service begins at the Abbey Centre, refreshments to follow (warm clothing is recommended as small portion of ceremony is outdoors)

Innisfail

9:45 a.m. – Memorial service begins in the auditorium at the Innisfail Legion
10:45 a.m. – Community to gather at the Cenotaph – lunch to be served at the Legion after

Lacombe

8 a.m. to 10 a.m. – Community breakfast at the Lacombe Legion (cash donations accepted at the door)
10:45 a.m. – Remembrance Day Service at the Lacombe Memorial Centre
12:30 p.m. – Light luncheon downstairs and upstairs is a hot dog lunch for the kids at the Lacombe Legion
5:30 p.m. – Community potluck supper upstairs (bring enough for your family plus one more)

Penhold

November 10 at 7 p.m. – Ceremony to be held inside the multiplex

Ponoka

10:15 a.m. – Parade begins by ATCO Gas and goes to Legion where a ceremony will be held in the auditorium (potluck lunch to follow)  

Sylvan Lake

10:30 a.m. – Parade begins at NexSource Centre
12 p.m. – Lunch at Legion Branch 212 
2 p.m. – Cenotaph service to be held in Memorial Park
