RCMP investigate armed robbery at Alix Hotel

ALIX- Bashaw RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the Alix Hotel on Monday afternoon.

Mounties received a 911 call shortly before 1:00 p.m.

A man entered the hotel bar, carrying what appeared to be a sawed off firearm.

The weapon was pointed at patrons and a hotel worker and the suspect demanded cash from the till and the VLT’s. 

After receiving cash, he fled out the front door and was seen to get into a white regular cab Chevrolet pickup.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Patrols by Bashaw, Stettler, and Blackfalds RCMP failed to locate the vehicle.

The suspect is described as caucasion, six-feet-tall. He was wearing dark blue coveralls with a reflective stripe and was masked.
