The Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce has handed out its 2017 Business of the Year Awards.

Four local businesses were honoured at the Chamber’s 36th Annual Business Awards event Wednesday night at the Red Deer College Arts Centre.

The 2017 recipients are:

Business of the Year 1 – 10 Employees: The Bra Lounge

Business of the Year 11 – 20 Employees: 360 Fitness

Business of the Year 21+ Employees: Olymel

Young Entrepreneur Award: Postma Electrical

The Business of the Year Awards are organized by the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce and held annually in conjunction with BDC’s Small Business Week.

“The Business of the Year Awards are presented in four categories to exceptional businesses within the Red Deer area,” Chamber President Robin Bobocel says in a release.

All companies in Red Deer, Chamber members and non-Chamber members, are eligible to be nominated for an award. Finalists in each of the four categories are selected by an independent judging panel.

This year, the Chamber says it received a record 60 nominations this year, including 22 for the Young Entrepreneur Award.
