RDC golfers have strong weekend, Queens Soccer earn shutout

The Red Deer College Queens Soccer team handily defeated the Lakeland College Rustlers 5-0 while the Kings played to a 0-0 draw against the Rustlers on Saturday. The RDC Golf team had a great weekend at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Golf South Regionals in Medicine Hat.

Here is a summary of what happened this past weekend in conference action:

Queens Soccer | Saturday, September 23 | RDC Field

The Red Deer College Queens (1-1-3) earned a 5-0 victory over the Lakeland College Rustlers (0-5-0). Nicole Phillips scored 3 goals for the Queens while Reesa Garez and Natasha Saleem added singles.

Kings Soccer | Saturday, September 23 | RDC Field 

The RDC Kings (1-3-1) played to a 0-0 draw against the Lakeland College Rustlers (1-2-2).

RDC Golf | Saturday, September 23 | South Regionals | Desert Blume Golf Club

The Red Deer College Golf team had a fantastic opening day. The Kings sat in first place while the Queens placed third. Cole Morrison shot an opening round of 69 to share top spot among ACAC male golfers. Shaye Leidenius sat in first place among ACAC female golfers with a 79.

RDC Golf | Sunday, September 24 | South Regionals | Desert Blume Golf Club 

The RDC Kings earned top spot as a team while the Queens finished in third place. Cole Morrison completed the weekend in second place among ACAC male golfers with a total of 145 (69 and 76). Shaye Leidenius continued to play good golf and shot a two-day total of 159 (79 and 80) to finish in second spot among ACAC women.
