Red Deer building permit values up significantly

The value of building permits in Red Deer last month were more than double than in the same month last year.

The latest stats from the City show over $15.4 million dollars in permits issued in the month of August, up from $6.5 million in August of 2016.

Notable permits last month include a $5 million dollar permit for a new Quinn Artificial Lift Services facility and a permit for a building at Timberlands Drive, valued at $900,000.

Year to date figures however are still well behind last year’s. There has been nearly $84 million dollars in permits issued so far in 2017, down from over $190 million issued at this point in 2016.
