The first "Football Day" in Red Deer takes to the gridiron this Saturday in Rosedale.

Throughout the day at the Rosedale Sports Field (#2 Roland Street), there will be Atom (7-to-10 years) games in the morning followed by Pee Wee (11-to-12 years) games in the afternoon.

Atom games are scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon featuring four Red Deer teams, as well as squads from Lacombe, Innisfail, Sylvan Lake, Rocky Mountain House and Stettler.

The pee wee game between the Red Deer Steelers and Red Deer Hornets goes at 1 p.m. on the north field.

There is no charge to attend the event. However, there are not bleachers on these sports fields so attendees should bring folding chairs and/or blankets to sit on the grassed areas.  Parking is limited around the field and City bussing has a bus stop at the northeast corner of the Rosedale field.
