McDowell finishes 12th at Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship

Chandler McDowell finished tied for 12th overall at the Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship in Kingston, Ontario.

The 17-year-old Red Deer Golf and Country Club member fired an even-par 70 in Thursday’s fourth and final round of play at the Cataraqui Golf & Country Club. McDowell finished the tournament at three-over-par (280).

After setting a course record on Wednesday, Calvin Ross of Fredericton, NB coasted Thursday to a seven shot victory, finishing the tournament at nine-under.

Carter Graf of Sylvan Lake finished tied for 66th overall, shooting 299 for the tournament, and 20th in the juvenile division

Lacombe’s Brady McKinlay tied for 70th overall (308) and placed 22nd in juvenile.
