She Has A Name wins 5 Top Indie Film Awards

RED DEER- She Has A Name has added 5 Top Indie Film Awards to its growing acclaim.

The Alberta-made production was recognized in the global competition with Awards in the following categories:

- Best Feature

- Best Actress, Teresa Ting

- Best Cinematography

- Best Sound

- Best Music

The film was also nominated for Best Directors, Best Writing, and Best Editing.

“It’s rewarding to see the film continue to garner attention,” says Matthew Kooman, who codirected the film with brother Daniel Kooman from the screenplay by Andrew Kooman. “We’re excited that She Has A Name is being recognized for its performances, in the technicalcategories and as a story.”

With a total of 8 nominations and 5 wins, the film continues to generate attention both in Canada and internationally.

In June, the film picked up the Silver Crown Award for Best Feature at the ICVM Awards in Cincinnati.

In the spring it took home the award for Best Production Design at the Alberta Film and Television Awards in Edmonton.

Locally, She Has A Name was given the Audience Choice Award at the Central Alberta Film Festival.

The Top Indie Film Awards are a global competition designed to help indie filmmakers find success and celebrate their achievements.
