A Clearwater County Councillor seat will be open for someone else to be elected into, come this fall.

At the County councils regular meeting that was held June 20, Earl Graham, who is the Division 6 representative which is Caroline south and northeast, announced he will not be re-running for council come the fall election.

“I’ve just come to the conclusion that it was time for someone else to pick up the torch” he said.

Graham added that it’s been great being on council for the last 13 years.

“That division has been great with me, the people are great to work with. I have very few problems in my division” he says. “My time has been educational as well as enjoyable for me.”

Even though he won’t be sitting on council anymore Graham says he plans to still keep himself busy by focusing more on the four volunteer boards he sits on in Caroline.

“I think the real reason for joining council to begin with was because my parents bestilled in me to give back to the community, and I had the time to do it.”

Municipal elections in Alberta are to be held on October 16, 2017.
