Mosquito Red Deer Dick’s Auto Braves

Dick’s Auto Braves continued to play fantastic ball, picking up four more wins:

Thursday, June 22  – Braves 13 vs Innisfail Indians 10
– Spencer Claerhout and Brett Belich  both played great making it home each time they were up each with 3 RBI’s
– Kieran Peterson and Kelton Holowaychuk each hit doubles in the fourth inning clinching the win for the Braves.
– Luke Schmitt had a great outing pitching also

Saturday, June 23 – Braves 20 #1 vs Strathmore Reds 6
– Brett Belich, Matthew Daaver, Spencr Claerhout, Luke Schmitt, Kieran Perterson and Mason Hammerback all had RBI’s to tally up the 20 runs
– Strong pitching in the game with Kieran Perterson starting having 4 strike outs and only allowing 3 runs in 35 innings pitched, Mason Hammerback also pitched great to keep the win

Saturday, June 24 – Braves 20 vs Rimbey Rays 10
– Matthew Deaver, Brett Leslie, Addison Geisbretch, Spencer Claerhout, Luke Schmitt, BrettLeslie,  and Kelton Holowaychuk all had RBI’s
 – Grady  Rodzinyak and Addison Geisbretch each 2.5 innings

Sunday, June 25 – Braves 20 vs Leduc Black Gold 15
– Matthew Deaver, Spencer Claerhout and Kelton Holowaychuk  pitched great to keep this back and forth game close until the very end with the Braves pulling ahead with the solid lead in the sixth inning
– Spencer Claerhout again played a great game with 3 RBI’s in the game
– Tanner Morrow had 2 RBI ‘s helping the Braves comeout with the win

Next action… the Braves are travelling to Kamloops to compete in a tournament over the Canada Day Long Weekend!

– Jackson D’Arcy 2 innings pitched, 3 strikeouts
–  Ryker Laybourne 2 innings pitched 5 strikeouts
– Connor Berglund single, double, 2 RBI
– Griffin Slywka 2 triples, double, 4 RBI
–  Lidell Austin game ending 2 RBI single

Sunday – Braves 8, Strathmore Reds #2 5
– Noah Nakonechny 5 innings pitched, 10 strikeouts
– Unconventional but exciting double play- Hunter Lewis got the force at third, then the ball went to Connor Berglund, then to Elijah Cadieux then back to Hunter to get a second runner out at third
– Ryker Laybourne inside the park homerun
– Keenan Crozman big hit in the bottom of the 5th to extend the lead to 7

Braves 21, Foothills Outlaws Grey 4
– Elijah Cadieux 2 IP, 1 strikeout, highlight was snagging a hard comeback- to- the- mound line drive in the second
– Nathan Weiler clutch 2 RBI single in the second to blow the game open
– Caelan Empey 2 hit 5 RBI performance
– George Monaghan added another single to bring his weekend total to 6 singles
– Hunter Lewis closed out the Braves perfect weekend by striking out 2 in the final inning
