Two in custody after home invasion

Jun 15, 2017 | 6:35 AM

Two 17-year-olds are being held in custody after they allegedly attempted to break into a home on Wednesday.

The incident happened south of Rocky near Range Road 71-A between Highways 11 and 752 at 3 p.m. where Rocky RCMP received a call from a home owner who said they had come home and found two males allegedly in her home who then fled when they saw her.

When officers arrived on scene, the two suspects were seen running into some bush near the Clearwater River. The K9 unit was then dispatched and began to track around the area.

According to Staff Sergeant Mark Groves, the two culprits swam across the Clearwater River, but K9 tracked them both down and they were arrested.

Both teens are being held in custody at this time and will be charged with Break and Enter and other serious offences.
