Zablocki, Pratt featured in final rankings for 2017 NHL Draft

NHL Central Scouting has released their final rankings for the 2017 NHL Draft.

Two members of the Red Deer Rebels have made the list. Forward Lane Zablocki is ranked 52nd among North American Skaters while forward Austin Pratt is 103rd.

Zablocki was a key addition for the Rebels in their January 10 blockbuster trade with the Regina Pats. The Wetaskiwin native racked up 29 points in 31 games with the Rebels, and 54 points on the season overall. He added eight points in six playoff games.

Pratt just wrapped up his second season with the Rebels after the club selected him round four of the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The 17-year-old from Minnesota had 30 points in 70 games this season.

Other local players on the final rankings include Sylvan Lake native Tyler Steenbergen. The Swift Current Broncos sniper is ranked 70th among North American Skaters after tying for the WHL goal scoring lead this season with 51.

Kale Howarth of Red Deer, a forward with the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL, is 128th on the list. Howarth had 58 points in 51 games in 2016-17 and has committed to Northern Michigan University for the upcoming NCAA campaign.

Red Deer native Dawson Weatherill of the Spokane Chiefs is ranked 25th among North American Goalies.
