Red Deer's Nielsen making noise in AHL

Red Deer's Andrew Nielsen, has been quietly making noise in the American Hockey League as a Rookie Defenceman for the Toronto Marlies, the Maple Leafs farm team.

The Red Deer Minor Hockey Alumni has been leading the way among rookie defenceman in the league when it comes to scoring goals.

In 66 games, Andrew is currently tied for first with 13 goals, tops in the league for rookie blueliners.

Nielsen is 7th in scoring with the Marlies. Complementing his 13 goals, 24 assists, and 37 points is a plus 8 rating with the Leafs minor league affiliate.
