National Torch Relay for 2019 Games launches Thursday in Ottawa

The 2019 Canada Winter Games is celebrating the launch of the first ever national MNP Canada Games Torch Relay.

The 48-stop torch relay travels across Canada, beginning with the lighting of the Roly McLenahan Canada Games Torch in Ottawa on Parliament Hill on Thursday, October 4.

Auditions held at RDC for Winter Games opening ceremony

In less than 140 days, the Opening Ceremony of the 2019 Canada Winter Games will welcome more than 3000 athletes and their coaches from across the country at the Enmax Centrium.

On Saturday dancers auditioned at Red Deer College to be a part of the show.

Six new sponsors were announced Tuesday night for the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer. The announcements were made from the former Sears location at Bower Place which will now serve as the Games new Volunteer Distribution Centre.

Vancouver Olympics CEO rallies Red Deer ahead of 2019 Canada Winter Games

The man who led the successful Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010 feels Red Deer will a great job with the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

John Furlong said as much when he spoke at a Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce luncheon Wednesday alongside Ron MacLean.
