The Mustard Seed in Red Deer held its fifth annual 'Coldest Night of the Year' national walk for homelessness event Saturday night. Over 167 walkers, 32 teams and 48 volunteers took part, helping to raise $26,433 which will go towards programs at the Mustard Seed which assist those most vulnerable in our community.

Red Deer was one of 120 communities across Canada on Saturday evening to help raise awareness and support for our community’s most vulnerable.

Two people were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 2A north of Blackfalds Saturday morning.

Alberta’s carbon tax, pipelines, hospital expansion and rural crime were just some of the topics UCP Leader Jason Kenney touched on during a stop in Red Deer on Thursday.
