Mayor Poole optimistic about Blackfalds in 2018

With a population just shy of 10,000, the town of Blackfalds continues to have exciting prospects on the horizon.

Richard Poole, who was elected to the mayor's chair in October, says 2017 was a productive one and 2018 has a chance to be the same.

Red Deer County council approves Operating and Capital budgets

Red Deer County council has approved its latest Capital and Operating budgets with a strong focus on taking advantage of low construction costs.

The 2018-2022 Capital budgets include $39.3 million in spending in 2018 before coming back down to around $20 million for the other years.

Westerner Days wins international award for agricultural programming

RED DEER- Westerner Days Fair & Exposition has received international recognition after winning an award with their agricultural programming.

Westerner Days earned first place in a non-fair related agriculture event or program for the Westerner Park Urban Farm.

Red Deer County is taking advantage of the slow economy with its 2018 Capital Budget.
 
County council tabled the 2018-2022 Capital and 2018-2020 Operating expenditures on Tuesday with the public invited to provide feedback from now until they are debated on December 19.
