Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe House Gets New Moniker

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe  and District welcomed a new era Tuesday.

Kent House, which is located at 5103-49 Avenue will now be known as Bamford House, after country music star Gord Bamford who is from Lacombe.

Bamford was on hand Tuesday for the ribbon cutting.

CentreFest 2016 a Success Thanks to Businesses and Volunteers

Centrefest 2016 organizers say this year's festival was once again a success.
 
Festival Director Janice Shimek estimates close to 25,000 people came downtown to be amazed by the various street performers on Saturday and Sunday.

New Payday Loan Restrictions Now in Place to Better Protect Albertans

New regulations for payday lending are now in effect across Alberta.
 
Service Alberta Minister Stephanie McLean ushered in the changes Tuesday morning.
 
Borrowing fees are reduced from $23 to $15 per $100 borrowed, making it the lowest rate in Canada.
