Local pharmacists march to protest new government funding framework

A grassroots group of roughly three dozen pharmacists marched through downtown Red Deer on Thursday to protest a new pharmacy funding framework announced by the Alberta government on February 28.

City of Red Deer employee Lonnie Amundson, along with local representatives from the Insurance Bureau of Canada, Save-On-Foods, McDonalds & Tim Hortons were all recognized by RCMP on Wednesday for their extraordinary efforts in assisting Mounties with their crime reduction efforts in our community.

RCMP honour local businesses and citizen for extraordinary crime reduction efforts

Red Deer RCMP took some time Wednesday morning to recognize members of the community who have recently gone above and beyond to assist local Mounties in their crime reduction efforts.

The Central Alberta Sting U16 AA finished with a 2-4 record at the Canadian Ringette Championships held in Winnipeg last week.

Central Alberta Sting U16 AA ringette team back from nationals

A local ringette team is back from competing at the Canadian Ringette Championships in Winnipeg last week.

The U16 AA Central Alberta Sting finished with a 2-4 record after some tough battles with the other top teams in the country.

Duane Daines was announced as the Mirror Ball winner at this year's Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off held at the Sheraton Hotel in Red Deer Saturday night. Proceeds raised from the community building event will go towards the Canada Winter Games Celebration Plaza currently under construction and refurbishment in downtown Red Deer.
