Local film buffs have a chance to enjoy some great flicks at the Central Alberta Film Festival in Red Deer this weekend.

The second annual event runs February 23 - 25 at the Scott Block Theatre and Carnival Cinemas and also entails an awards celebration.

CALGARY, AB — The provincial government has announced new energy efficiency rebates for industrial businesses.

The government announced rebates specifically for industrial businesses to help them reduce their energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

Through Western Economic Diversification Canada and the Western Innovation Initiative, the Government of Canada is investing $1.1 million in Intelligent Wellhead Systems inVision technology which aims to create cleaner and safer oil and gas recovery efforts.

The federal government has announced $1.1 million in funding for a clean technology innovation aimed at enhancing environmental and safety measures in oil and gas recovery.

WHL bringing Awards Ceremony and Bantam Draft to Red Deer

Starting this May, Red Deer will be the new home of the WHL Awards and Bantam Draft. 

League Commissioner Ron Robison made the announcement Wednesday at the Enmax Centrium, home of the Red Deer Rebels. The partnership is for three years.
