The deadline to nominate a local business for the Rocky Mountain House Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Award Banquet is fast approaching.
Saturday March 10 is the nomination deadline. People have the chance to nominate their favorite business from seven different categories: Business Of The Year 1-25 Employees, Business Of The Year Over 25 Employees, Lou Soppit Community Builder of the Year, Customer Service Excellence Award, Hospitality Award of Excellence and the Cindy Taschuk Award.
President Colleen Dwyer says they are looking for as many nominations as possible.
“Usually we are happy with a couple in each category but we are really encouraging everybody and anybody, you don’t have to be a chamber member and it doesn’t have to be a chamber member business they just have to be worthy of the award.”
This is the 74th year that the event has taken place. For the first time, this year’s banquet will have a bit of a theme to it that will be geared towards adventures that you can do out in the West Country.
“All the tables are going to be named for adventures you can do out in the West Country, we are coming up with a signature drink, and I’m not going to spoil the surprise but it’s going to be awesome,” said Dwyer.
Because there is so much to do out in Rocky’s backyard, she adds that having the banquet’s theme be catered to that is important.
“There’s lots to do out west so it gives us a lot of options and a lot of things to play with” she said.
The nomination form is available at the Chamber of Commerce office, on the Chamber website, or call the Chamber at 403-845-5450.
