The Rocky Mountain House Airport will be home to the 2018 Rocky Airshow.

The announcement was made on their Facebook page December 4.

Back in January, officials announced the cancellation of the 2017 event due to a lack of funding. The show is funded almost entirely from gate revenue, $16,500 per show from Alberta Gaming, as well as local corporate sponsorship.

The 2015 show saw corporate sponsorship come in at 50 per cent of the year previous. With the local economy as it was officials had realistic concerns and thought that those numbers would come in even lower this year, hence the decision to cancel for 2017 and wait until 2018.

The airshow has been around the community for the last 15 years.

Next year's show will take place on July 25. The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will be in attendance as well as the Canadian Forces CF18 Demo Team.
