National bird vote results

OTTAWA — The top 10 voter-getters in the Royal Canadian Geographic Society's online survey seeking nominations for Canada's national bird. The list has now been narrowed to the top five:

Common loon — 13,995 votes

Snowy owl — 8,948

Gray jay or whiskey jack — 7,918

Red Deer RCMP say they have recovered the white Ford F150 truck involved in yesterday’s shooting of a 29-year-old man in the Michener Hill neighbourhood.

Red Deer Diner Causes Stir With Controversial Sign

A Red Deer eatery has come under fire for posting a transphobic and homophobic message on their outdoor signage.
The sign at Queen's Diner in the Burnt Lake area, which has since been removed, read, "Its (sic) Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve! Pick a washroom."
