Voter turnout higher for Advance Polls in Lacombe

Officials with the City of Lacombe are reporting a 24 percent increase in the number of advance voters in this year’s Municipal Election, compared to the last one in 2013.

Results from the two Advance Polls held on September 30 and October 11 in Lacombe, show nearly 400 eligible voters cast their ballots early, up from 303 in 2013.

There were roughly 8,800 eligible voters in Lacombe in 2013, with 3,294 taking the time to vote, a 37 per cent turnout.  Town officials say around 10,000 people are eligible to vote in Lacombe this year.

The Polls in Lacombe will open from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Lacombe Memorial Centre, with voters reminded to bring their I.D.
