Bev Manning is running in her eighth municipal election and is one of 16 candidates vying for seven spots on the Board of Trustees for Red Deer Public Schools.

Manning has 22 years of experience with the board, including the last four as Board Chair.

Having lived in Red Deer for over 40 years now, with all three of her kids and grandkids being born and raised here, Manning says she still believes in public education and believes that every citizen should support it.

“We really have a lot of work to do and it’s good work and important work, so I’m willing to serve again if the public wishes me to.”

A Graphic Designer for a locally owned printing business for over 22 years now, Manning points to raising student success as her number one priority. She says that can be done through supporting strong teachers in classrooms and by teaching relevant and interesting curriculum in a wide variety of ways.

Manning says other focus areas include literacy, numeracy, equity for all students, additional mental health and wellness supports  and High School completion rates.
