Saying he brings a strong business background balanced with a passion to serve the public, Lawrence Lee is seeking a second term on Red Deer City Council.
“Being a City Councillor, I’ve spent my time working with so many incredible people wanting to make Red Deer a better place to live,” Lee said at the Oct. 4 candidate forum at Westerner Park.
“Whether it’s dialogue and engagement, reducing taxes, economic development, focusing on community safety, or advocating with the province in their education or healthcare portfolios, it takes an army of those people and resources to move forward.”
Prior to being elected to council in 2013, Lee was a Trustee for Red Deer Public Schools and served as Board Chair. He is a Past Director for the Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta and Past President of the Red Deer and District Chinese Community Society.
Career-wise Lee has held senior leadership roles with international companies such as the Jim Pattison Group and Home Depot.
On his website Lee lists community safety, economic development, and education and health as his top priorities.
