Digital story telling event coming to Red Deer County

Apr 2, 2018 | 10:00 AM

Red Deer County, Cows and Fish, Clearwater County, and the Red Deer River Watershed Alliance are co-hosting a storytelling event in Red Deer County on Monday, April 16 at the Crossroads Church building from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

The digital stories combine the art of storytelling and digital media to share individual connections to the land. The stories focus on stewardship of land and water, and are intended to educate and promote social change.

Ken Lewis, Red Deer County Conservation Coordinator, comments, “Connections between Central Albertans and the land run deep. These stories are about that connection, told in the words and pictures of the farmers, ranchers, and landowners themselves. We invite everyone to hear and see these stories.”

Also featured will be First Nations dancing and additional stories featuring landowner stewardship through the Alternative Land Use Services program. The group would like to thank EPCOR, ATCO, and the Government of Alberta for their generous financial support which made the storytelling workshop possible.
