RDC Social Work students present Photovoice exhibition on determinants of health

The students of SOWK 313A: Social Work in Health Care are holding a public photovoice-inspired exhibit aimed to raise community awareness on a broad range of psychosocial issues and potential ways of addressing them from a social work lens.
The “first photo” illustrates an identified psychosocial issue that is tied with the social determinants of health. The “second photo” illustrates one concrete strategic initiative to address the identified issue, from a social work lens.
The students will be presenting on: Drug & Substance Use, Mental Health & Disability, Gerontology, Income, Housing & Food Security, and Structural & Contemporary Issues.
This event will be held on Thursday March 29, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Red Deer Bottling Forum at Red Deer College. Various students and their instructor will be available to answer questions.
