County conducting controlled burn exercise along Burnt Lake Trail

Red Deer County Fire Services would like residents to know that a controlled house burn will take place on Saturday, March 17 off of Burnt Lake Trail.

The exercise will take place throughout the day, and it is likely that large amounts of smoke will be coming from the site.

Anyone seeing smoke in the immediate area should not call 9-1-1, as it is a controlled exercise.

The exercise is part of Red Deer County Fire Service’s ongoing training to ensure its fire fighters get the most realistic scenarios to learn how house fires behave.
