The Radisson hotel in Red Deer has made a donation to wildfire relief efforts in B.C.

From July 1 to August 1, one dollar for every beer sold at the Radisson’s lounge was donated to the Canadian Red Cross.

The "Drink for the Cause" fundraiser brought in $2581.

“Being a B.C. boy myself I am overwhelmed with the support that we are able to provide as well as the tireless efforts of all those helping on the front lines and behind the scenes,” says Gary Schwandt, Food and Beverage Manager for the Radisson Red Deer.

Schwandt says they are looking forward to hosting their Bikers Against Child Abuse event on September 16.

The team from Radisson Red Deer also took home one of this year's prizes at the 9th annual Grilled Cheese Invitational, held on Sept. 9 by BIG 105 and 106.7 The Drive in support of Prostate Cancer Canada.
