5th Annual Step ‘n Stride™ for fundraiser for Parkinson disease

5th Annual Step ‘n Stride™ on September 10th at Festival Hall (New Location for 2017)

Red Deer, AB September 5, 2017

Parkinson Association of Alberta is pleased to announce Flexxaire Step ‘n Stride™, the province’s largest fundraiser for Parkinson disease. It takes place in 10 locations across Alberta the weekend of September 9th and 10th.

On Sunday, September 10th at Red Deer’s Festival Hall, over 100 Flexxaire Step ‘n Stride™ participants will walk to raise funds for Parkinson disease. These supporters are united in their goal to ease the burden of the disease and to one day find a cure.

Flexxaire Step ‘n Stride™ registration begins at 10:30AM while the walk begins at 11:30AM. Walkers will follow the Lindsay Thurber Track . When they return they will be treated to music by Kate and Mitch, and a BBQ lunch provided by Save-On-Foods. Also featured is the Wellness Fair, which is made up of relevant organizations able to support those with Parkinson disease in various ways.

Over 10,000 Albertans are living with Parkinson’s. The disease affects thousands more through caregivers and family members. There is no cure and rates are increasing. Flexxaire Step ‘n Stride™ raises essential funds for Parkinson disease services, education, advocacy and research.
