Magdalene House holding fundraisers in hopes of reopening

May 23, 2017 | 10:15 AM

Red Deer’s Magdalene House, a home of recovery for people exploited by human trafficking, is striving to reopen its doors.

The house first opened up in April 2015, but was forced to close late last year due to financial struggles.

Magdalene House is holding a number of fundraising events over the summer months, including screenings of the award-winning film She Has A Name.

The first screening takes place May 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Woody Nook Christian Reformed Church (RR #1, Site 10, Blackfalds). Tickets can be reserved by calling the church at 403-885–4427 or Magdalene House at 587-273-4324.
