Dreeshen talks ISIS, CRA and pay fiascos

November 24, 2017 - 9:21am

I hope everyone is enjoying this brief reprieve from winter before it settles in for good. We have seen an eventful few weeks in Ottawa and I wanted to provide an update on some of the most recent news.

ISIS Fighters Returning to Canada – Not Being Tracked

This week we saw the revelation that ISIS fighters who are returning to Canada have been tagged for “reintegration” by the Liberal Government. A stark contrast to what other countries are doing with these people who took up arms to fight alongside and in many cases join in terrorism, sex slavery, and so much more.

Dreeshen: Conservatives continue fight against proposed tax changes

October 6, 2017 - 5:54pm

Fighting the Liberal tax proposals for small businesses, farmers, and professionals has been issue number one for the Conservative Caucus in Ottawa since returning to Parliament in September. For me, it has been issue number one since July 20th, two days after the draft legislation was released and I was alerted to the issue by a constituent in Olds. Since then, I have held roundtables and forums to hear from business owners and those who work for them.

Dreeshen: Illegal border crossings are a big problem

August 18, 2017 - 11:08am

It was recently reported that 3,800 illegal border crossers have entered Canada since August 1. This is in addition to the 3,000 in July after Justin Trudeau misled the world by implying our borders were open to anyone, a statement he has yet to publicly correct.

The increasing number of illegal border crossings in Canada has resulted in misinformation amongst the general public. It is important for Conservatives to continue to remind Canadians and members of the media what the facts are.

Dreeshen: Khadr settlement, small business taxes raise cause for concern

July 26, 2017 - 8:43am

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. I have had the opportunity to see thousands of riding members throughout the local parades, festivals, and Canada Day activities. I am encouraged by the response to our new Conservative Leader and the direction our caucus is taking as the voice of the taxpayers. Based on the feedback I have been receiving from constituents in Red Deer – Mountain View, I am confident that we will continue to focus on jobs, the economy, public safety, communities, and holding the government to account on Liberal entitlement.

Dreeshen: Liberals security legislation puts Canadians at risk

June 27, 2017 - 3:57pm

Summer is here and I am looking forward to spending the next couple months in the riding, continuing to engage Central Albertans on what is important to them.

Wind Storm

First I would like to offer my best wishes for everyone affected by the wind storm last week. There was significant property damage throughout Red Deer and other parts of Central Alberta and I also wish to thank all of the emergency workers and community members for keeping our neighbors safe.

Dreeshen: Not too late to save Vegreville immigration centre

June 7, 2017 - 1:09pm

For the past few months, the Conservative Caucus has been holding the Liberals feet to the fire on many important files.

One of those is the political decision to move the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Case Processing Centre out of Vegreville into a Liberal cabinet member’s riding in Edmonton.

More information has come to light including the fact that the move will end up costing tax payers millions of dollars.

The impact on the community of Vegreville will be devastating.

Dreeshen: Thank You, Rona Ambrose

May 19, 2017 - 10:21am

As we look forward to the upcoming May Long weekend, in hopes that the good weather is not far behind, I wanted to provide you a quick update from Ottawa.

Rona Ambrose Leaves Federal Politics

On May 16th, my friend and Interim Leader of the Conservative Party Rona Ambrose announced that she is stepping down not only as leader but as Member of Parliament for Sturgeon River – Parkland.

Dreeshen backs missile launch on Syria, lauds Old College in latest report

April 7, 2017 - 2:54pm

A lot has gone on since my last update locally, nationally, and internationally. I am pleased to bring you an update on some of those events.

US Missile Attacks in Syria

The United States fired 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at Syria on April 6th in response to what it believes was a chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime that killed more than 100 people.
