Red Deer to start bouncing back from economic slump: Conference Board

A national think tank says there's reason to be optimistic when it comes to Red Deer's economy.

After two consecutive years of steady decline, The Conference Board of Canada says in its Mid-Sized Cities Outlook that Red Deer could see a rebound of two per cent this year.

Government investment encouraging food processor growth in central Alberta

Combined funding from the federal and provincial governments in the amount of $2 million will help central Alberta food processors upgrade equipment, expand capacity and improve efficiency.

Province supports program to help local entrepreneurs get their start

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association will expand its Catapult Entrepreneurs incubator thanks to $600,000 in funding from the Alberta Entrepreneurship Incubator Program.
