Central Albertans will be able to keep themselves busy over the Family Day Long Weekend with numerous communities hosting special events to mark the occasion.

Student’s at Red Deer’s St. Francis of Assisi Middle School came together on Friday to help raise money for the Alberta Cancer Foundation by taking part in an All Day Hockey Game.

The Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce hosted an Oil and Gas Panel discussion at the Radisson Hotel in Red Deer Thursday to discuss the future of the energy industry in Canada.
