Dog rescued from Red Deer River

Officials with Red Deer Emergency Services are reminding residents to stay off the Red Deer River.

This after crews responded to a dog in distress call on the river Saturday morning. Fortunately, the dog was pulled to shore safely and not injured during the incident.

Celebrating inclusion in Red Deer on International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Raising awareness about inclusion and working towards acceptance was the goal of a banner signing campaign held at the Collicutt Centre in Red Deer on Sunday.

Charity Checkstops providing assistance this holiday season

Four local organizations partnered together on Saturday to hold Red Deer’s annual Charity Checkstop in support of those in need of assistance this holiday season.

The 7th annual Santa Shuffle and Elf Walk was held at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre in Red Deer on Saturday, December 2, 2017. The event was hosted by the Salvation Army and Running Room at South Point Common in Red Deer.

Salvation Army Santa Shuffle & Elf Walk sees record participation

Well over two hundred Red Deerians took part in the 7th annual Santa Shuffle and Elf Walk at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre Saturday morning. Tthat's the most people ever, according to the Salvation Army's Corps Officer in Red Deer, Major Larry Bridger.

Lending Cupboard Society recognized with 2017 Premier's Council Award

A Red Deer charity that provides medical equipment for those who need it has been recognized with a 2017 Premier’s Council Award.

The Lending Cupboard received an Award of Excellence in Community on Friday from the Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities.
