Raising awareness and understanding around eating disorders is the goal of an international campaign which features two events in Red Deer over the coming days.

A central Alberta hockey player has been named the WHL’s ‘On the Run Player of the Week’ for the week ending January 21.

Matt Fonteyne, a 20 year-old forward and native of Wetaskiwin, plays for the Everett Silvertips and earned 10 points and a plus six rating in three games last week.

Red Deer RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating 14 year-old Keanna Will.

Will was last seen by her family in Red Deer on January 17 and Mounties would like to verify her well-being.

She is described as Metis, 5’3, 100 pounds with blonde hair and brown eyes.

The Albert Sport Development Centre has announced its ASDC-Central Male Athlete of the Month for January.

Coleman McKee is a 15 year-old Red Deer resident attending Grade 10 at Hunting Hills High School and is a competitive Freestyle Skier.

Over 500 cross country skiers and their coaches are competing at the 2018 Haywood NorAM Western Canadian Cross Country Ski Championships and Peavey Mart Alberta Cup 5 / 6 at the River Bend Golf & Recreation Area in Red Deer from January 19- 21.
