The District 8 Ladies Auxiliary Command was in Drayton Valley on Monday to present a donation of over $4,600 towards a new specialty wheelchair.

The money will go towards the DV Hospital and Care Centre getting a second ‘Rock N Roll’ specialty wheelchair that soothes patients who show agitation due to cognitive impairment.

“The purchase of an additional Rock N Roll wheelchair will have a significant positive impact for the patients and residents that this wheelchair is designed for,” says Acute Care Manager of Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre Gail Roddick. “We are truly thankful to the District 8 Ladies Auxiliary Command for choosing the Drayton Valley Hospital & Care Centre to be the recipient of these funds.”

The Ladies Auxiliary Alberta N.W.T. Command has more than 2,000 members, with the group donating about $1 million annually to multiple branches and communities.
