Trial booked for Rocky man accused of child luring, pornography

A Rocky Mountain House accused of luring a 12-year-old girl online is going to trial.

RCMP and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s (ALERT) Internet Child Exploitation unit arrested Tyler Cumberland, 30, in November over allegations of online sexualized chats involving a 12-year-old girl.

Police said the two met through social media and that the accused was allegedly aware the victim was underage.

Explicit chats and photos were discovered by the victim’s parents, who contacted RCMP last August.

A search of a Rocky Mountain House residence resulted in the seizure of a number of electronic devices which contained evidence in relation to the case.
