Albertans concerned about long-term care facilities

Apr 18, 2018 | 5:57 AM

EDMONTON- A survey suggests most Albertans with relatives in long-term care facilties say there are not enough nurses and other staff to properly look after their loved ones.

The survey was commisioned by the Health Quality Council of Alberta.

The results also indicate only about half of the people surveyed feel that staff really care about people living in such care homes — mainly seniors.

Doctor Tony Fields, chairman of the council’s board, says the system must do better.
