Four charged in attempted armed robbery and police chase in Caroline

Four people have been charged following an attempted armed robbery and police pursuit in Caroline this week.

It happened around 6:00 a.m. on April 10 when Rocky Mountain House RCMP were called to the Caroline GTI station where a man with a knife allegedly demanded cash from a clerk but was yelled at by an employee and fled on foot without any cash.

Three other people are said to have fled in a vehicle which was later determined to be stolen out of Blackfalds.

Mounties located the vehicle which was driving erratically and a pursuit began.

A Sundre RCMP member also attended with the chase eventually ending near Sundre and the vehicle’s three occupants arrested without further incident.

The suspect male with a knife was found walking in Caroline and also arrested.

Daniel Potter, 29, is facing nine charges including robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking. Potter had his first court appearance on April 11.

Kevin Gallagher, 33, is facing eights charges including possession of property obtained by crime, impaired deriving, failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking and operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued by police. Gallagher remains in custody for a Rocky Mountain House court appearance April 18.

Kristina Fagala, 44, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance. She has been released from custody and is slated to appear in Rocky Mountain House court May 9.

Darren Ray, 35, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and was released to appear in Red Deer court April 16.
