ENDED: Snowfall warning for Drayton Valley area

UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended the snowfall warning that was in effect for the Drayton Valley area.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Drayton Valley and the surrounding area.

The warning says, “Heavy snow will move into the Grande Cache region early Thursday evening and spread southeastward towards Red Deer by Friday morning. The heavy snow will begin to taper off through the day Friday.”

Snowfall, with total amounts of 10 to 25 cm is expected.

Affected areas include:

Brazeau Co. near Drayton Valley and Breton
Co. of Wetaskiwin near Alder Flats and Winfield
Co. of Wetaskiwin near Pigeon Lake
Leduc Co. near Calmar and Devon
Leduc Co. near Warburg Thorsby and Pigeon Lake
Ponoka Co. near Crestomere
Ponoka Co. near Rimbey Bluffton and Hoadley

Snowfall warnings may be extended southwards as the timing and location of heaviest snowfall becomes clearer.
