GAS SIPHONED, FRAUD

Drayton Valley RCMP say on March 16 just after 9 a.m. on 50th Street a theft was reported to have occurred sometime overnight. Unknown individuals stole fuel from a semi truck by siphoning fuel from the tanks.

Later in the day just after 3 p.m. a report was received of fraud after a complainant was contacted through Facebook saying that she had won $50,000 but was required to send money for taxes and fees.  After sending the money the complainant realized it was a scam. Matter is under investigation, but it’s believed money was sent out of country.

BREAK AND ENTER, GAS AND DASH

On March 17 at 9:20 a.m. in Cynthia police were called about a break and enter that had occurred sometime overnight. Some businesses were broken into and the matter is still under investigation.

Just after 4 p.m. in Tomahawk a black Dodge diesel pickup stole $46 worth of fuel from the gas station  and left north bound on Highway 759.  

VEHICLE ROLLOVER, POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE

During the early morning hours of March 18 just after 3 a.m. on Highway 39 and Highway 22 in Brazeau County Mounties responded to a single vehicle rollover.  EMS and Fire Department attended as well and the  lone occupant taken to hospital with minor injuries.  

During the afternoon just after 4 p.m. in Drayton Valley members on patrol conducted a traffic stop.  Passenger was later arrested for outstanding warrants and possession of Methamphetamine.  They have been remanded in custody following a hearing.

POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE,  ROBBERY WITH A FIREARM

On March 19 at 11:30 a.m. police arrested 31 year old Justin Handbury on outstanding warrants from Edmonton.  He has been remanded into custody. 

At 11:47 a.m. in Lodgepole on 52 Avenue a report came in of an armed robbery at the Lodgepole General  Store.  Two suspects entered the store wearing dark clothes, one had a mask on and the other was holding a shotgun.  They were told to get out and  they left heading towards the Brazeau Dam.  One male was arrested later on by Rocky Mountain House Members. 

Just after 5:30 p.m. on 50th Avenue a report of a shoplifter came in after a native male, approximately 25 years old wearing a blue plaid shirt and touque entered the B&B Liquor Store. He proceeded to grab a bottle of rum valued at $30.95, then ran out of the store.  Matter is still under investigation.

Later that evening just after 10 p.m. a man was arrested at the Derrick Lounge after a report of two males fighting outside the bar.  Members attended and located one of the individuals near by.  21 year old Dwayne Potts was arrested for outstanding warrants and other offences.  He was held for a hearing and remanded into custody.

TRAFFIC COLLISON, ASSAULT 

During the early morning hours of March 20 at 1:36 a.m. on Highway 22 and Highway 621 a report was received of a vehicle hitting the ditch and going through a barbed wire fence. Inside were four youths who were all intoxicated who got out of the vehicle only sustaining minor injuries. The parents were later contacted. 

During the evening at 7:19 p.m. on 54 Street a report of an assault came in. Two males were sitting in the back alley with one man requiring stitches. A car load of people were involved and they took off. Members located the males who refused to cooperate.  Patrols were made for the suspect vehicle with negative results. 

THEFT, BREAK AND ENTER 

During the afternoon of March 21 at 2:17 p.m. on 47th Avenue a report was made after a black 2004 Dodge Ram truck was stolen from the driveway. It has not been recovered. 

Just before 3:30 p.m. at Drayton Valley Ford a report was received of a break and enter to a shed located behind the main building.  Unknown if anything taken.  Parts had been moved from the shed and placed under a vehicle in the parking lot where they were recovered.
