Innisfail RCMP are thanking the public for tips that led to the arrest of two suspects accused in a pair of rural break and enters last weekend.

They happened March 18 at approximately 9 a.m. when Mounties responded to a break and enter and theft from a rural oil site on Range Road 263, north of Highway 590 in Red Deer County.

Police say the suspects were reportedly driving a dually vehicle and had stolen black copper wire and oil site batteries. While enroute however, RCMP received a second call of a break and enter in progress to another oil site nearby.

Upon arrival, Mounties found the suspect vehicle, a white dually cube van matching witness descriptions still at the scene.

Police approached the van but the driver is alleged to have pushed the gas pedal to the floor, making it become stuck in the snow.

Two males were arrested without further incident and the van found to be full of property.

Michael Levesque, 43, of Red Deer County has been charged with mischief under $5,000, break and enter with intent to commit theft, two counts of possessing stolen property under $5,000 and trespassing.

Joshua Desjarlais, 39, of Red Deer has been charged with Mischief under $5,000, break and enter with intent to commit theft, three counts of possessing stolen property under $5,000, trespassing, breach of probation, driving while disqualified and possessing a scheduled substance.

Desjarlais was scheduled for a bail hearing in Red Deer court March 20, while Levesque was released with conditions to appear in Red Deer court March 23.
