Exciting new playground coming to Blackfalds this spring

Families in Blackfalds can look forward to an exciting new playground coming to the town’s Valley Ridge neighbourhood this spring.

This after council approved the Rec Board’s recommendation to award the project to Canadian Recreation Solutions construction-themed proposal for the playground.

Town officials say the proposal was selected from over 40 drawings received by administration, which were narrowed down to five concepts, then sent to the Rec Board to pick their favourite theme.

The playground is said to include a three-story tower and the longest tube-slide in the industry, a Bulldozer Kid Rider where kids can pretend to work, a Diamond Climb which features internal ropes that provide challenging and varied climbing paths to get from deck to deck, and a Jack Hammer which is a swirly stick that can hold three kids all at once according to Canadian Recreation Solutions.
