Memorial for Ryan McBeath happening Wednesday

A memorial service for Red Deer Optimist Chiefs forward Ryan McBeath will take place Wednesday.

The service will be held at Olds High School, located at the Ralph Klein Centre, starting at 2 p.m. Everyone attending is encouraged to wear their favourite hockey jersey.

McBeath passed away Tuesday morning after the Jeep he was driving collided with a semi in foggy conditions near Torrington.

The 17-year-old recently finished his second season with the Optimist Chiefs and was heading home from Drumheller to Olds when the crash occurred.
