OLDS- Olds College has named Mountain View County their 2018 Partner of the Year.

Mountain View County (MVC) has a long history of making valuable contributions to Olds College, most recently pledging support to the College’s Beyond Campaign through a $500,000 donation towards the Werklund Agriculture Institute.

The donation elevated Mountain View County’s lifetime giving total to over $1 million.

“The support Olds College has received from Mountain View County is a testament to our strong, long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship,” comments Stuart Cullum, President, Olds College. “On behalf of the College, I would like to thank Mountain View County for their continued commitment towards investing in agriculture, investing in our students and investing in Olds College.”

“On behalf of Mountain View County Council, staff and most importantly our residents, I’d like to express our profound gratitude to Olds College for being selected as the 2018 Partner of the Year,” said Bruce Beattie, Reeve, Mountain View County. “Our municipality’s partnership with the College extends well beyond provision of funds or approvals for projects and initiatives, but into a true working relationship based on common interests, goals, and belief in rural innovation and advancement.”

Past support from Mountain View County has been allocated to student awards, the expansion of the National Meat Training Centre, and our Heavy Equipment Operator program.

The County also generously provides an in kind contribution of land for Olds College to run the Heavy Equipment Operator program.
