UPDATE: Thieves crash truck into Bower Place, steal ATM

Mar 6, 2018 | 12:39 PM

RED DEER- RCMP are investigating the theft of an ATM after a truck crashed through glass doors at Bower Place early Tuesday morning, knocking over an ATM near the door so that the two men in the truck could remove it.

Police responded to the report of a break-in at Bower Place at 5:17 a.m.

The investigation determined that a dark blue Ford truck had backed into the north doors of the mall and struck an ATM located near the doors.

The collision knocked the ATM off its base and two masked, gloved male suspects then placed the ATM in the truck and fled.

Police determined that the truck fled north on Bremner Avenue and onto 47 Avenue, and subsequently recovered the truck where it had been abandoned in a parking lot in the 3100 block of 47 Avenue (between 30 St. and 32 St.).

The truck had been reported stolen out of Blackfalds earlier the same morning.
