Two more flu-related deaths in AHS Central Zone in past week

Two more flu-related deaths have occurred in Alberta Health Services Central Zone over the past week.

According to the AHS website, the number of influenza-related deaths in the Central Zone as of March 1 now stands at 18, up from 16 on February 23.

Elsewhere, flu-related deaths total 26 in the Calgary Zone, 18 in the Edmonton Zone, 8 in the North Zone and 5 in the South. That’s 75 province-wide so far this season.

The number of Albertans admitted to hospital with lab-confirmed influenza stands at 2,507, with 295 of those being in the Central Zone. It’s 969 in the Calgary Zone, 818 in the Edmonton Zone, 253 in the North and 172 in the South.
