ENDED: The parking ban in Drayton Valley has been lifted.

A seasonal parking ban for Drayton Valley has been called, and will be in effect starting March 4 at 7:30 a.m.

The town of Drayton Valley says all parked vehicles need to be removed from the route and any vehicles left on the route will be subject to ticketing and/or towing.

The ban includes 50 Ave from 54 Street to 43 Street, and sections of 50 Street from 46 Avenue up to 50 Ave and a chunck from 52 Avenue to Industrial Road.

For your safety and the safety of town workers it's suggested you obey all signage and use caution around equipment and crews.

The ban comes in response to a winter storm that has dumped between 8-12 centimeters of snow, with a further 5 centimeters expected by the end of Saturday.

The town would also like to remind motorists that parking is acceptable in residential areas overnight between the hours of 7:00 pm and 7:00 am.
