Bantam AAA Rebels fall in opening round of playoffs

The season has come to an end for the Red Deer Bantam AAA Rebels.

Red Deer fell 4-1 on the road Wednesday night to the Lethbridge Golden Hawks. Lethbridge swept the best-of-three division quarterfinal series 2-0.

Tyler MacKenzie scored Red Deer’s lone goal in game two while goalie Joshua Hilts turned in 20 saves.

One night earlier, the Rebels fell 5-4 in double overtime at the Servus Arena in the series opener. Foxx Doell scored twice for Red Deer. Nolan Price scored the game winner for Lethbridge 17:37 into the second extra period.
